ARMENIA BACKS TURKEY EU MEMBERSHIP

Armenian Prime Miniser announced that Armenian governmentsupports Turkey’s EU membership. Armenian support to Turkey’s EU membership came after Turkish and Armenian Foreign Ministers signed protocols to establish diplomatic relations.

Voicing support to Turkey’s European Union membership process, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said, “Therefore we can establish close relations with EU.”

Speaking to Russian Interfax agency, Sargsyan said that Turkey’s EU membership would be beneficial for Armenia. “It is also towards our interests. We can establish good relations with EU through Ankara,” said he.

Mentioning closed state border between Turkey and Armenia, Armenian PM said, “Closed borders are one of the biggest obstacles for development of economies in the modern World.”
