THE WORLD BANK READY TO ASSIST TURKEY-ARMENIA NORMALIZATION

Executive director of The World Bank Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala stressed that opening of borders between Turkey and Armenia will bring a new perspectiveof economic growth for Armenia. Okonjo-Iweala stated that The World Bank is ready to assist the governments of Turkey and Armenia in the process of normalization of relations. Okonjo-Iweala also stated that Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan asked World Bank for a research towards infrastructural needs of Armenia before opening of borders.

Holding a press conference in Yerevan, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala backed the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. He stated that opening of borders between Turkey and Armenia will bring a new perspective of economic growth for Armenia. He said that The World Bank is ready to assist governments of both countries in the process of normalization of relations.
