Milli Mejlis, the Azerbaijani parliament began its autumn session, APA reported. The lawmakers touched upon the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations during the discussion of current issues.

Vice Speaker of the parliament Bahar Muradova said that there was no need to create boom over the removal of Turkish flags in the Alley of Martyrs in Baku. “It was carried out within the law. Indeed the law on use of flags of foreign countries and international organizations in Azerbaijan should be implemented out since its adoption.”

MP Ikram Israfil said it was necessary to declare September 15, the day of liberation of Baku as a Day of Turkish-Azerbaijan friendship for ending of tensions between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

MP Igbal Aghazadeh proposed to hang the Turkish flag in highest place of Azerbaijan. “The removal of Turkish flags will increase the enemy's activity.“

First Vice Speaker Ziyafat Asgarov reminded that not only Turkish, but Azerbaijani flag was also removed from the Turkish Martyrdom in Baku. “Why don't you mention the insulting of Azerbaijani flag in Turkey? When I saw our flag in that situation I considered myself insulted. We want Turkish officials to take the national interests of Azerbaijan into consideration.”

GREAT UNION PARTY DECORATES SIVAS WITH AZERBAIJANI FLAGS

Turkey's Great Union Party (BBP) is planning to decorate the city of Sivas with Azerbaijani flags. It will hang the flags on the offices, buildings and cars.

According to APA, the party's regional organization in Sivas asked the citizens to support its action and also to extend it throughout Turkey. Leader of the BBP regional organization Zeki Haral said three thousands Azerbaijani flags would be hanged in the different places of the city. “Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship is above all and it can not be sacrificed to the Armenian thesis. The signing of protocols in Zurich between Turkey and Armenia was a wrong step. It was politically incorrect to sign such document in the country, which recognized “Armenian genocide.” There is nothing in favor of Turkey in the protocols. This is a blow on the Turkic union. Our Azeri brothers were hurt when Turkey banned the Azerbaijani flags in the stadium where Turkey-Armenia match was played, but they waved Turkish flags during the Azerbaijan-Russia match in Baku protesting the action of Turkish government, which violated the right of brotherhood. Our Azeri brothers should know that the Turkish government took this anti-brotherhood step in Bursa against the will of Turkish nation.”
