President Abdullah Gul had a phone interview with Russian President Dimitry Medvedev yesterday. It is reported that Presidents of Turkey and Russia discussed the situation in Caucasus.
President Abdullah Gul called Russian President Dimitry Medvedev to accelerate process of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He stated that Russia is the most deterministic actor in the region.
Presidential sources defined the phone interview of Gul and Medvedev as a ’constructive talk for establishing permanent and comprehensive peace and stability in Caucasus.“It is reported that Presidents of two countries also discussed energy issues and that Moscow underscored South Stream project.
It is reported that President Abdullah Gul informed Russian President about recent developments in the relations between Turkey and Armenia. He also told Medvedev, “You are the deterministic actor in the region, accelerate the process of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Your support towards resolution of the conflict is very important.”
