
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu left for Azerbaijan as the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan got tensed due to the protocols that were signed by Turkey and Armenia towards normalization of the relations between two countries.
After Baku administration lowered Turkish flags in Turkish martyrdom in Baku as a protest against Turkey’s Armenia policies, President Abdullah Gul had a phone interview with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President Gul stated that misunderstandings between two countries are corrected. On the other hand, Baku once again lowered Turkish flags in front of the Religious Affairs Department building that belongs to Turkish embassy in Baku. Following this development Turkey sent a note to Baku.
To ease the tension between two fraternal countries, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu left for Azerbaijan. Davutoglu will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Memmedyarov to discusss the misunderstandings betweeen two countries. Davutoglu will also attend to the meeting of Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) in Baku.
Foreign Minister Davutoglu will deliver the concerns of Turkish administration about the attitude of Azerbaijani administration. He is expected to express once again that Turkey will not make any steps against the interests of Azerbaijan.
