Armenian diaspora continues its efforts for undermining the efforts towards peace between Turkey and Armenia. A new resolution that recognizes 1915 events as a so called Armenian genocide isintroduced to U.S. Senate.

The new ’Armenian genocide’ resolution is presented to the senate by Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Senator John Ensign (R-NEV). The resolution calles U. S. President Barack Obama to reshape foreign policy of United States due to the issue of so called Armenian genocide. Pro-Armenian representatives claim that so called Armenian genocide is documented in the archives of United States and the country should be following a foreign policy that is sensible to this issue.

The resolution will be discussed by the External Relations Committee of the Senate and if the committee approves the law draft, it will be brought to the agenda of U.S. Congress. On the other hand, resolution will not be obligatory even if it passes from U. S. Congress. A similar law draft was presented to U.S. House of Representatives in March. The resolution was prepared by Democrat Party representatives Adam Schiff and Frank Pallone, and Republican Party representatives George Radanovich and Mark Kirk.
