Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov reminded the reports on agreements between Turkey and Armenia about trade of electricity, and said that such initiatives by Turkey would encourage Armenia’s aggressive policies against Azerbaijan.

According to the report of Azerbaijani Press Agency, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov stated that reports in Turkish media about an electricity trade agreement between Turkey and Armenia would mean contributing the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia. “It would mean a support to the stance of Armenia in the negotiations towards Karabakh conflict resolution.”

Azimov said, “If these reports are true, and if Turkey is considering of buying electricity from Armenia, the money that will flow to Armenia from Turkey will encourage Armenia’s aggressive policies in the region. Turkish community should be aware of that.”
