
Armenia has lowest birth rate among the CIS countries. Chief of the demography department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Vanic Babajanyan said birth rate dropped 50 percent in 2008 as against indications of 1986, APA reports quoting Armenia Today. 41185 babies were born in 2008 in Armenia while it was 81200 in 1986.
