The documents of Britisih Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which were reviewed by Robertson backs over last 15 years, saythat Turkish-English relations are too important to be ruined by this issue.

“CURRENT POLICY IS ONLY VALID OPTION”

One note that is prepared by Foreign Ministry in 1999 for briefing English ministers wrote that English government may be criticized on this policy in terms of ethical aspects but this current policy is only reasonable option because of the importance of political, strategical and commercial relations between Turkey and England. Briefing said that recognition of so called Armenian genocide would not bring anything good.
