
Paying an official visit to Washington, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov replied the questions of journalists in United States.
Commenting on Turkey-Armenia relations, Azimov said, “Practically, opening of borders is part of the solution. Returning occupied lands of Azerbaijan, opening of borders and ways, opening of communication channels would bring great benefit to Armenia. Opening of Turkey-Armenia and Azerbaijan-Armenia borders is also very important for development of regional trade.”
Commenting on the point that Turkey-Armenia relations reached after countries signed protocols, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that two countries have dispute on history and they are struggling to solve historical problems between each other.
Reacting to the policies of Armenia against Azerbaijan, Azimov said; “Turkey is familiar with this because of allegations of Armenian genocide. This is in the nature of Armenians.”
