KARABAKH IS AN OBSTACLE FOR ANY DEVELOPMENT IN THE REGION

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Abid Serifov said that occupation of a part of the territory of Azerbaijan is an obstacle against any development in the region.

Stressing that 20 percent of the lands of Azerbaijan is under Armenian occupation, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister said, “The occupation is an obstacle against economical development, preservation of human rights and the prosperity in the region.” Serifov said that the dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia should be resolved with respect to territorial integrity and international law.

Making a speech in the Economic Summit of Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Standing Committee on Economic and Commercial Cooperation in Istanbul, Abid Serifov thanked tothe member countries of OIC on their support for Azerbaijan in Karabakh conflict. Azerbaijani Depurt PM said that Armenians exiled one million Azerbaijani from their homeland and ruined hundreds of historical monumentand Islamic heritage in the occupied lands. Abidov said that the support of OIC member states to Azerbaijan is important for international awareness about the problem.
