ARMENIAN, HUNGARIAN PRESIDENTS DISCUSS TURKEY-ARMENIA RELATIONS

Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan and a delegation with him paid a visit to Hungary and met with Hungarian President Laslo Shoyom. During the meeting, Laslo Shoyom said that Hungary considers Armenia as an important partner and they are ready to develop the political dialogue and economic cooperation. Presidents of two countries stated that the documents they have signed will contribute development of the relations and trade between Hungary and Armenia.

During the negotiations, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan informed his Hungarian counterpart on the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and process of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Sarksyan said, “We want to resolve problems peacefully and without preconditions. We want to develop good relations with our neighbours and we want to use existing opportunities to contribute the peace in the region.”

“I believe that permanent peace and stability in the region could be provided only by cooperation,” Sarksyan said. Hungarian President Laslo Shoyom also touched the issue of Turkey-Armenia normalization and said that Hungary backs the efforts toward normalization of relations between two neighbouring countries.
