
Government plans to lift visa regime with Azerbaijan as another step to ease the tension between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said that lifting visa regimewith Azerbaijan is on the agenda of the government. It is reported that Ankara wants to ease the tension with Baku by making such a step. The relations between two countries was tensed as Turkey was struggling to normalize its relations with Armenia.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave the signal of mutual cancellation of visa regime between two fraternal countries. It is reported that the issue is still being debated and final decision will be made during the visit of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov to Turkey.
Turkey has already agreed with Syria to lift the visa regime. And lifting visa regimes with Jordan and Azerbaijan is on the agenda of Justice and Development Party government.
