Turkey is strengthening its position in the South Caucasus, said political analyst Zardusht Alizadeh at the 7th meeting of Club of Political Scientists, APA reports. His colleague Fikret Sadikhov said Turkey intensified its role in the region and in the process of solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Rashad Rzaguliyev related the strengthening of Turkey's role with weakening of U.S.-Russia confrontations and setting of new geopolitical game rules.
Mentioning the differences between policies of present and previous U.S. administrations, the experts said there were no cardinal changes and Obama administration changed only rhetoric. Alizadeh said U.S. didn't change essence of its policy. “Only rhetoric was changed. Bush preferred to use force, but Obama uses soft force”.
The analysts also held discussions around the ratification of Turkish-Armenian protocols. They said Turkish parliament would ratify it, but had not scheduled its date yet.
