The director of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) Richard Giragosian said that Israeli lobby in United States will support so called Armenian genocide resolution as a reaction to the tension in the relations between Turkey and Israel. Giragosian also said that Israel will struggle to deepen its relations with Armenia.
“Turkey gets stronger in the near East and increases its influence. This is not for the favour of Israel, therefore it will follow a policy against it,” Giragosian said. Stressing that the tension between Turkey and Israel is not getting eased, he said, “Turkey may form a new threat for Israel starting from next year.”
Armenian political scientist claimed that Turkey changed the its policy axis and it may develop its relations with Syria and Iran even more. Commenting on the relations between United States and Israel, Giragosian said that the relations between two countries are not as before either. He said that there is a personal antipathy between Barack Obama and Benjamin Netanyahu due to Israel’s military operations in Palestine. Giragosian said, “A new page has opened in the relations between Israel and United States. Israel is not the favourite country of U.S. anymore.”
