Issuing a press statement, Social Democratic Party Administrative Board Member Vahan Shirhanyan said, “I think that if opposition parties had called people to the streets, then streets wouldbe filled with 500 thousand people and protocols would not be signed. And an early election would being discussed now. That did not happen. Actuallythe opposite has happened. I do not think that opposition parties work, and i do not think that they demand an election.”

Stressing that the future of elections depend on the strength of opposition, Shiranyan said, “If people believes in the actions and the promises, then they would create a new opposition. I do not think that current opposition parties want election.”

Armenian Social Democratic Party Spokesman stressed that an early election in Armenia isrelated to the relations between Turkey and Armenia and also to the developments in the process of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resettlement. “People may react strongly and an early election would be inevitable,” said he.
