Consulate General of the Russia Federation in Istanbul, Alexey Erkhov stated that Russia finds the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia favourable.
Russian Consul General paid a visit to Bursa and met with Mayor of Bursa Shahabettin Harput. Underscoring the good relations between Turkey and Russia, Harput reminded the saying of Napoleon, “Geography determines the fate of countries.” Harput said, “We have warm relations with Russia and Russian people in cultural, social, economical, commercial and touristic aspects. The cooperation between two countries will continue to bring peace and stability to the region.”
And Consulate General of the Russia Federation, Erkhov expressed his content on his first visit to Bursa. Erkhov said, “I will be pleased to learn about economical and cultural structure of Bursa.” To a question of a journalist on Turkey-Armenia rapprochement process, Erkhov stated that Russia welcomes the steps towards normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations. Alexey Erkhov said, “We find Turkey-Armenia rapprochement favourable. We respect our neighbour Turkey and of cource we are interested in itsforeign policy. Russian government aims to develop relations with Turkey in all aspects.”
