If Turkey says in talks that relations with Armenia depend on resolution of the Karabakh conflict, Yerevan will stop the talks at once.

This is how Naira Zograbyan, an MP from the Prosperous Armenia party, reacted today to remarks by the Turkish foreign minister that the Armenian-Turkish protocols will not be ratified until the Armenian side returns Azerbaijani land.

She said that these remarks should not be taken seriously until Turkey makes them directly during negotiations with Armenia.

“If during direct negotiations with us Ankara says that relations with Armenia depend on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Armenia will stop negotiations at once,” she said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Tuesday during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Elmar Mammadyarov, in Athens that ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols is possible “only after Armenia withdraws from Azerbaijani land”.
