Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu said during the meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Athens Tuesday that the ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols is possibly only after the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia ends.

According to the news service for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, at the meeting held in Athens, Davutoghlu noted that there is a need to continue Karabakh conflict settlement to ensure peace and security in the region.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views in all directions of bilateral relations. The sides touched upon regional issues, normalization of the Turkish-Armenian relations, Karabakh problem and situation in Afghanistan.

At the end of the meeting Davutoghlu invited Mammadyarov to pay an official visit to Turkey. Azerbaijani minister accepted the invitation and stressed he may pay a visit in the second half of December 2009. < Prev   Next >
