PAPANDREOU COMMENTS ON TURKEY-ARMENIA RELATIONS

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Greece, Yorgo Papandreou welcomed the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and said that he hopes for similar developments to take place in the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Greece, Yorgo Papandreou made a speech in the morning session of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) 17th Ministerial Council and commented on the relations between Turkey and Armenia.

Papandreou said, “There are important developments in our region. Turkey and Armenia made progress towards rapprochement after years of conflict. The efforts of Azerbaijan and Armenia towards peace are being continued. For example, the leaders of two countries met in the mediation of OSCE Minsk Group last week.”

Reminding the OSCE meeting that was held in Korfu (Kerkira) island in June, Papandreou called parties to make one step further as the security of Europe in 21st century requires.
