European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) asked Organization for Fighting Against Baseless Armenian Allegations (ASIMDER) for documents which prove that Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan gave directions to Armenian military forces to commit a massacre in Khojaly, Azerbaijan.

Head of ASIMDER Goksel Gulbey stated that European Court of Human Rights replied their application for Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan to be tried on the Khojaly genocide.

“European Court of Human Rights stated that they put our application into operation and asked us to send documents about the application to the court till January 8, 2010,” said Gulbey.

Chairman of Organization for Fighting Against Baseless Armenian Allegations expressed his content on the reply of ECHR and said, “The court asks us for documents about Sarksyan. As an addition to the documents we already have, we asked Azerbaijan’s Consulate General to Kars to provide us more documents if they have. When documents arrive, we will prepare our application in the shortest term and we will present them to the court.”

Stressing that Sarksyan should account for the massacre in Khojaly village in Azerbaijan, Gulbey said, “We believe that European Court of Human Rights will make a fair decision. Because Sarksyan was the commander of the Armenian armedforces which committed massacre in Khojaly in 1992. He ordered Armenian armed forces to commit a massacre and he also participated in that. The blood of the victims of Khojaly massacre has not dried yet. 1,2 million Azerbaijani citizen had to leave their homeland in that period. Because of these, Sarksyan should be tried in ECHR.” < Prev   Next >
