An Armenian analyst specializing in international relations said that exam marks of Armenian diplomacy will become clear after new year.

Director of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS), Richard Giragosian said that exam marks of Armenian diplomacy will become clear in 2010. Giragosian said, “In other words, it will be clear that what price Armenia had to pay for establishing diplomatic relations with Turkey. The price of Turkey-Armenia protocols will be learnt. One should not congratulate Turkey evenif itestablishes diplomatic relations and open the borders with Armenia. Because these are the minimum demands for normal countries.”

Stating that Armenia should stand firm when Turkey presses, Giragosian reminded the meeting between Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Barack Obama on December 7 andsaid that the date Erdogan will meet Obama is the deadline for protocols to be ratified by the parliamentary committee of Turkey. “According to Turkish authorities, protocols will be ratified by External Relations Committee. And the main voting will be made during the discussions in the Parliament. It seems that they will delay the ratificationuntil February or March and therefore they will establish connection between process of ratification and April 24,” said he. < Prev   Next >
