Known with his researches on Armenian issue, Assistant Professor Doctor Orhan Cekic said that Armenian issue will not be easily solved as certain people go on to see the issue as a door to benefit from.

Speaking in a meeting that is arranged by Federation of Turkish Associations in the UK, Cekic said, “Armenians prefer to initiate the history of deportation from 1915. On the other hand, Armenian terrorists burned and ruined 35 cities for 35 years before 1915. They ruined Eastern Anatolia by the strength they took from external powers. The number of Turkish/Muslim people that were massacred only in 1915 is about 525 thousand. In fact, in the begining they started performing terror against Armenian people to assimilate and urge them to support theirselves.”

Commenting on the Turkey-Armenia protocols, Cekic said, “There are no reasons for Turkey to avoid protocols or opening of borders with Armenia. But before that, Armenia should recognize Kars, Gyumri, Moscow and Lausanne treaties. They may give up the claims of so called Armenian genocide, and then we will be ready to help our Armenian neighbours onany problem.”

Making a speech at the end of the meeting, Chairman of Federation of Turkish Associations in the UK, Sener Saglam said, “We are afraid that the protocols signed with Armenia may harm the brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Borders should not be opened before Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is resolved.” < Prev   Next >
