“Agenda of a meeting between Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Barack Obama includes also issues related to Azerbaijan,” Azerbaijan Citizens and Development Party Chairman Ali Aliyev said.

He noted that during the meeting the sides will discuss the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Turkey’s position in this matter.

“It is also very important visit in terms of Turkey-Armenia protocols. This issue will be seriously discussed during this visit,” Aliyev said.

He said the statements voiced earlier by the president, the prime minister and foreign minister of Turkey clearly indicate that Turkey links normalization of relations with Armenia with settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

“This is an acceptable position for Azerbaijan, and I would like to see it was also announced by Turkish prime minister to the United States,” he said.

“Erdogan-Obama meeting is important in terms of resolving the Karabakh conflict,” Aliyev added.

“The United States is a superpower which solves many problems around the world and Erdogan is a representative of a country which is partner of Azerbaijan in all matters.”

“So, this meeting is very important for Azerbaijan. This visit will shed light on relevant issues and will be a cornerstone for the next year to advance these issues,” Aliyev noted. < Prev   Next >
