Director of one of the most efficient Russian newspapers, Izvestia, Vladimir Mamantov said that Turkey and Russia develops bilateral cooperation in every field. Mamantov said, "We witness that international interests of Turkey and Russia coincides in several fields. Two countries share the opinion about establishment of security in Europe, Asia, Black Sea and Caucasus."
Stressing that the situation in Caucasus became more difficult after Georgia war, director of Izvestiya said that Turkey's proposal Caucasus Stability and Cooperation Platform is an important initiative. Stating that tough issues should be left to the time and should not be rushed on, Russian expert said, "Some of our Georgian friends ask us if Russia someday will be able to support territorial integrity of Georgia. And I show them the example of Turkey and Armenia. If Turkey and Armenia can melt the ice although they have very serious problems, why other countries wouldn't be able to do that? Russia welcomes and respects the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. Countries should not rush for the solution of Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Necessary steps should be made, but those does not happen immediately."
