U.S. President Barack Obama reiterated his support to the process of normalization between Turkey and Armenia.

In a letter to one of the major Armenian lobbying organizations in US, Armenian Assemby of America (AAA), Obama wrote that he believes process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armeniais towards the interests of both countries.

The letter was sent in a response to the letter that AAA sent to White House about its concerns on the process of Turkey-Armeniarapprochement. Obama wrote, "I agree that Turkey-Armenia normalization should progress without preconditions and within a reasonable timeframe. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton represented United States of America in the signing ceremony of Turkey-Armenia protocols which will form the base of normalization. We continue our support to the process as Turkey and Armenia make steps towards realizing their pledges to normalize their relations."

Mentioning 1915 events as "one of the biggest massacres in the 20th century," Obama avoided to use the term 'genocide' and called Turkish and Armenian people to adress the facts of the past as part of their efforts to move forward.
