While some of the people were celebrating the rapprochement process between Turkey and Armenia, I wrote, “Do not rely on ’Armenia opening’. If they had an intention to solve the problems between us, they would do that several years ago.”
Yes, I still have the same opinion.
The issue of so called Armenian genocide became a ’life style’ for Armenia. In an aspect, genocide issue is a matter of existence for Armenians in World public opinion.
Genocide issue is the only thing they can advertize since the little state has no success in economy, culture, sports, science and literature. They try to earn sympathy of people using this issue.
Therefore;
1 — Although Turkey and Armenia signed protocols, Armenian diaspora (especially in United States and France) will not permit Armenia to enforce protocols. Armenia has to take demands of Armenian diaspora into consideration to not to lose financial support of diaspora.
2 — Armenia cannot leave the claims of so called Armenian genocide. Armenia signed the protocols in Switzerland by urge of United States and Russia. (The face expressions of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian were noticable. Nalbandian was frowning while Davutolgu was smiling).
3 — Armenians seek for compensation and then they will claim Turkish land.

While we are restoring old Armenian churchs and invite everybody to opening ceremonies, on the other hand Armenian origin French singer Charles Aznavour, Armenia’s ambassador to Switzerlandclaims the lands of Turkey. Other than that,Lebanese-Armenian Patriarch Aram I. calls Armenians to bring the issues of compensation and recognition of so called Armenian genocide on the agenda.

Well, what will Turkey do?
Are Turkey’s steps towards Armenia are wrong?
Of cource not...
Turkey needed to make these steps to show World that it is not the party which avoids from peace.
But did we imagine that this initiative will come to this point?
I am not sure of that...
Frankly speaking, Turkey could do anything, but they will still not be satisfied. Other than that, Armenia will not easily withdraw from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. They will do that only if Russia wants. They are not going to end the occupation just because they made an agreement with Turkey...
