Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia will continue to contribute the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia.
Making a speech in the ’Europe and Asia Media Forum’ that is arranged by Ria Novosti News Agency, Medvedev said, “We welcome the development in the relations between Turkey and Armenia. In the 20th century problems in the relations are tried to be solved by dialogue. And we pay full support for this method.”
Medvedev said that normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations is not conflicting with the interests of third countries. He said, “If the message could be received accurately, there will not be tension in the countries that attentively follow the process.”
Turkey and Armenia signed protocols in the mediation of Switzerland towards establishment of diplomatic relations and development of bilateral ties. Armenia sent protocols to the Constitutional Court and Turkey sent the protocols to the External Affairs Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said before he leaves for United States that ratification of protocols will be dependent to the progress in the process of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
