While Russian President Dimitry Medvedev was calling Turkey and Armenia to continue efforts towards normalization of bilateral relations, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharian commented on the statements of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that he made during his visit to United States and said that Armenia mayset its own preconditions.
“WE WILL WAIT AND SEE”
Armenia Today news agency reported Shavarsh Kocharian as saying, “Armenia’s tactic will be ’wait and see’. If Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan’s statements in United States reflects to the actions of Turkey in the relations with Armenia then we will review our position. At the moment Turkey leaves the principal of ’rapprochement without preconditions’ we will setour own preconditions.” Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Kocharian said that one of the preconditions of Armenian government might be recognition of so called Armenian genocide by Turkey.
