
An international conference dedicated to the problems of violation of human rights during the armed conflicts took place at the UN Palace of Nations in Geneva on December 10, the Human Rights Day on the initiative of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYFDC). Armenian permanent representation to UN Geneva Office tried to break the conference and therefore it was delayed for an hour. They said as if the conference’s format was contradictory to the UN rules. After the organizers’ explanation, the conference began its work at the Palace of Nations with the participation of reliable guests.
ICYFDC Executive Secretary Elshad Isgandarov said in his report that the Organization of the Islamic Conference recognized Khojaly massacre together with the tragedies in Rwanda and Srebrenitsa and emphasized the importance of cooperation between OIC and European institutions within the cross-culture dialogue on this issue. Armenian representatives tried to break the conference for several times. Armenian diplomat Gevorgyan denied the Armenian army’s participation in the massacre. In response, Isgandarov said Armenian officials are still continuing to mislead the international community.
