US recognition of so called Armenian “genocide” and adoption of a relevant resolution in Congress is a pressure mechanism used by Washington to force Turkey into ratification of protocols, Milliyet Turkish newspaper columnist Kadri Gursel said.
“Although Turkish and Azeri public pressure on Ankara can prevent ratification, Turkey might risk it, basing on some other factors,” the Turkish journalist told a news conference in Yerevan.
