Opposition parties in Armenia will hold protest demonstrations by the new year to protest Zurich protocols that Turkey and Armenia signed to normalize bilateral relations between two countries. Armenian Dashnaktsutyun Party declared that they will hold protest demonstrations against Turkey-Armenia protocols following the decision of Armenian Constitutional Court on January 12 over protocols.

Holding a press conference, politician from Dashnaktsutyun, Vahan Hovhannisyan said, “Independent of any other thing, Dashnaktsutyun Party will hold a protest demonstration in front of Constitutional Court building. Armenia will not be calm on those days.”

Commenting on the preconditions of Turkey for ratification of protocols, Dashnak politician called Armenian government to be aware of Turkish preconditions. “One should be blind to not to see that Turkey sets preconditions,” said he.

Stressing that Dashnaktsutyun Party will not give up on pressing Armenian government on the process of negotiations between Turkey and Armenia, Hovhannisyan said that Armenian government should withdraw from negotiations. “Armenia may directly withdraw from negotiations or may set preconditions,” said he. Hovhannisyan said that Turkey-Armenia relations will lose its place on the agenda of Turkey following the closure of Kurdish political party by Turkish constitutional court.
