Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stressed that normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia cannot be realized unless Armenian occupation in Azerbaijani lands ends. “If Azerbaijani politicians do not have any doubts about Turkey’s Armenia policy, Turkish politicians should be even more confident about it,” said he.
Speaking during the budget discussions in Turkish Grand National Assembly, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey’s foreign policy principal of zero problems with neighbours is efficient on the relations with Armenia. Davutoglu said that Turkey’s vision on the region is also efficient on Turkey’s Armenia policy. Stressing that Turkey-Armenia normalization could be survived only with a comprehensive normalization in South Caucasus, Minister Davutoglu said that Turkey announced in every platform that normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations will not walk on one leg, until the dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia is resolved. Davutoglu said, “These two processes will progress together. Mr. Prime Minister met with Azerbaijani President Aliyev. And I am keeping contact with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister. If Azerbaijani politicians do not have any doubts about Turkey’s Armenia policy, Turkish politicians should be even more confident about it.”
Stating that treaty of Kars will be in effect forever, Minister Davutoglu said that any country cannot claim Turkey’s territory and they will get their answer if they do.
