Following the broadcasting of programs in Kurdish language, SU TV gets prepared for broadcasting news in Armenian language.
Su TV, which broadcasted news in Kurdish language, will broadcast its first news in Armenian language in December 28, 2009. The newscast in Armenian language in Su TV will go on the air everyday at 20:00.
Holding a press conference in Istanbul University Istanbul Campus Energy Museum, General Director of Su TV Mehmet Demir stated that they want to be the first Turkish channel to air program in Armenian language. Demir said that Su TV will be one of the a few television channels which broadcasts news in Armenian language, other than the ones in Armenia.
“We will do the thing that is not being done in Europe and United States, which advertise their democracies. Previously we made broadcasts in Kurdish language, and now we are going to broadcast programs in Armenian language,” he said.
The news will be presented by an Istanbul citizen of Armenian origin.
