ARMENIAN CONSTITUTIONAL COURT TO DISCUSS PROTOCOLS ON JAN.12

Holding a session on January 12, Armenian Constitutional Court will analyse the Turkey-Armenia protocols that proposes normalization of relations between two countries. It is reported that the decision of Armenian Constitutional Court will be under the influence of Armenia’s economical and strategical partner Russia’s opinion. Armenia is expected to introduce protocols to Armenian Parliament in March. The protocols that are initialized in Zurich, Switzerland by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian has been sent to External Relations Committee of Turkish Grand National Assembly. The Committee will carry the protocols on its agenda in accordance with the developments in the process of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh problem. The opinion of Russia on Turkey-Armenia normalization process is important since Armenia will not make any moves against the interests of Russia. Moscow administration has several times voiced support to the rapprochement process. Recently, speaking to Ria Novosti news agency, Russian President Dimitry Medvedev stated that Russia welcomes normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. “Problems in the 20th century is solved through negotiations and mutual respect and Russia gives full support to this methods,” said he. < Prev   Next >
