ERDOGAN CALLS TURKISH EMBASSIES TO BE MORE ACTIVE ON ARMENIAN ISSUE

Calling Turkish ambassadors to be more active, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that not only ambassadors to European countries but Turkish ambassadors in all over the world are needed to be more active. Erdogan said, “And especially in the countries where there are significant Turkish population; Our embassies in such countries should organize Turkish citizens and should intensify efforts towards unification of Turkish communities. I believe this issue will gain more meaning with your efforts.

Stating that he believes there will be important developments in the Cyprus issue in 2010, Prime Minister Erdogan said, “And for Armenian issue too. It is very important for us to voice our opinion as we are right in our cause. Turkey never accepted solutionlessness as a solution and we left old fashion policies behind. We should press for progress and we should solve this problem. You are the representatives of a country which is sincere, reasonable and the country which presses for the solution of the problem. The self confidence that Turkey recently gained will find a respond in the World through your efforts. 72 Million Turkish citizen believe in you and they know that you are representing them adequately. There is a heavy burden on your shoulders in the process of construction of tomorrow’s Turkey.
