Organization for Fighting Against Baseless Armenian Allegations (ASIMDER) in Igdir sent a total of 4,000 signatures against opening of borders with Armenia to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President of ASIMDER, Goksel Gulbey held a press conference and reminded that they had initiated a petition against opening of Turkey-Armenia border unless Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is solved. Stressing that Armenians repeat that they will not withdraw from the Azerbaijani lands that they had occupied, Gulbey said, “Armenians left so much damage in Azerbaijan through the occupation. The cost of Armenian occupation is heavy. They occupied 13,210 meter sqare of Azerbaijani soil.
20,000 people were murdered and 49,000 people were wounded during the occupation. The cost of occupation for Azerbaijani state is 60 billion dollars. 1.2 Million Azerbaijani people had to leave their homeland. Those refugees struggling to live in tents since 17 years. If Armenians want Turkey-Armenia border to be opened, they first should withdraw from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan immediately. Otherwise, we are against opening of Alican and Dogu border check-points to Armenia. ASIMDER have collected 4,000 signatures that oppose opening of borders without resolution of Karabakh problem. Today we are sending these signatures to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”
