It is reported that Armenian and Hebrew language departments are opened in Erciyes University.
Deputy Rector of Erciyes University Prof. Dr. Metin Hulagu stated that they have opened 6 new language departments within the Faculty of Science and Letters including Hewrew and Armenian Language and Literatures.
Stating that Turkey increases its influence in the region day by day and becomes an important actor that contributes the World peace, Hulagu said,
“Universities and scientists should accommodate themselves to the changing conditions in the World. Turkey follows an opening policy with neighboring countries and closed borders are being opened. And universities form the basis for these steps. As Erciyes University, we have taken the responsibility at this field. We want to establish Strategical Researches Institute of Erciyes University to contribute the resolution of political and social problems in our country and region. We are waiting for the approval of Board of Higher Education (YOK).”
Stating that they have opened six new language departments in order to accommodate to the changing conditions in the region, Hulagu said, “With the approval of Board of Higher Education, we have opened, Hebrew, Armenian, Indian, Urdu, Arabic and Persian language departments in Erciyes University. We are searching for academicians to hire for these departments.”
