Turkish Criminal Court has made final decision about the “I apologize to my Armenian brothers” campaign.

Sincan First High Criminal Court has decided to agree with the Supreme Court of Appeals’ decision of reversal about “I apologize to my Armenian brothers” campaign which was initiated by a group of Turkish intellectuals to apologize Armenians on 1915 events. It will not be possible to file a lawsuit in this issue after the decision of local court.

In 2008, a group of Turkish intellectuals had initiated a campaign on internet to apologize Armenians on 1915 events. The website of the campaign was calling people to put their signature under the text; “My conscience does not accept that (we) remain insensitive toward and deny the Great Catastrophe that the Ottoman Armenians were subjected in 1915,” read the apology. “I reject this injustice, share in the feelings and pain of my Armenian brothers, and apologize to them.”
