Nalbandian: Rapprochement process may end

E-mail Print PDF
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian accused Turkey of undermining the process of normalization of relations.

Armenian Foreign Minister accused Turkey of using a language of ultimatom and creating obstacles for normalization of relations by setting preconditions.

Stating that dialogue process may come to an end, Nalbandian said, “We cannot ignore any probability. We hope Turkey will remain loyal to the letter and nature of protocols and will ratify protocols without preconditions.”

Turkey and Armenia signed protocols in the last October in the mediation of Switzerland. Ratification of the protocols in the parliaments of two countries is needed before the agreement between Turkey and Armenia toward normalization of relations can take effect.

DAVUTOGLU WARNS ARMENIA

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu warned Armenia on keeping the letter and soul of protocols. Calling Armenian Constitutional Court to make clear the justified decision on Turkey-Armenia protocols, Davutoglu said, “We are expecting a clear explanation from Armenia on this issue.”

Holding a joint press conference with Foreign Minister of Jordan, Davutoglu said, “We had a long phone conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian. I will discuss the issue also with U.S. Secretary of StateHillary Clinton. I am also going to interview with mediator Switzerland.”
