Armenia: U.S. statement a blow to Turkey

Secretary of Parliamentary Panel of Republican Party of Armenia, Edward Sharmazanov said that U.S. statement over the justified decision of Armenian Constitutional Court is a blow to Turkey as Turkish officials evaluated the detailed ruling of the court as "unacceptable."

Speaking to Panorama, Adward Sharmazanov said that statements of U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Philip Gordon that welcome the justified decision of Armenian Constitutional Court is a blow to Turkey.

Claiming that Turkey faces with another blow with the statement of U.S. official, Sharmazanov said, “I think setting preconditions were not a good decision. Because that showed the real face of Turkey to international public opinion.”

The statement of Philip Gordon that rejoiced Armenian officials was; “We consider the decision of Armenian Constitutional Court as a positive step in the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. We are sure that Turkey and Armenia are taking their promises seriously. We call both countriesfor the urgent ratification of protocols.”
