Iran supports efforts towards Turkey-Armenia normalization

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met his Iranian counterpart Manuchehr Mottaki yesterday.

Mottaki is in Yerevan to attend the ninth session of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission.

The ministers said that the regular high-level meetings and visits showed the interest of Armenia and Iran in developing relations and cooperation, the Armenian Foreign Ministry press service reported.

They were confident that the intergovernmental commission would be effective.

The ministers exchanged views on security and stability in the region, touched upon the Karabakh negotiating process and the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.

Mottaki briefed Nalbandian on Iran’s nuclear program.
