A great many of representatives of the leading countries of the world has gathered in London, which means that other problems including the resolution of the Karabakh conflict discussed and touched upon. Anyway, if it is attended by our foreign minister, I am confident that this topic is touched upon in the meetings with the representatives of the United States, France, Great Britain and leaders of the foreign ministries of other countries,” the analyst said.

As for the current stage of the resolution of the Karabakh conflict the expert noted that the most important task for Azerbaijan is the withdrawal of Armenian troops from 5-7 regions around Karabakh.

“The liberation of these regions is important to us and we have repeatedly stated this. In fact, the recent negotiations in Sochi were also held around this problem but the Armenian side is trying to impose the simultaneous resolution of the Karabakh status and naturally we are against this because these are two different issues. Liberate our lands, demonstrate the goodwill gesture and then we will discuss the Karabakh status. But anyway we will continue insisting that Nagorno Karabakh is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan and the president has repeatedly said that the Karabakh status will be settled only within the framework of the territorial integrity and there cannot be other solution. Nagorno Karabakh will never be independent and Armenia understands this. It is important to persuade the heads of the leading status for them to exert pressure on Armenia because it will not withdraw from the lands without the due pressure. Only under pressure Armenia is ready to hold some negotiations and make concessions. In this sense the London meeting may be a good ground for discussion of these problems and issues,” Sadikhov said.
