Protocols not included in the spring session agenda of Armenian Parliament

Press Secretary of Armenian Parliament’s Speaker Nairi Petrosyan stated that Turkey-Armenia protocols are not included in the spring session agenda of Armenian Parliament.

As the debates about protocols that Turkey and Armenia signed toward normalization of bilateral relations continue after the justified decision of Armenian Constitutional Court, it is reported that ratification of protocols will be delayed by Armenia. Turkey-Armenia protocols are not in the agenda of Armenian Parliament in spring sessions.

Speaker of Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan’s Press Secretary Nairia Petrosyan stated that signed Turkey-Armenia protocols are not in the spring session agenda of Armenian Parliament. Petrosyan said that protocols are still at Presidency and they are not yet introduced to Parliament.

The protocols require ratification of the documents in the parliaments of both Turkey and Armenia before they can take effect. Turkey introduced protocols to Turkish Grand National Assembly following after signing protocols in Zurich.
