"Genocide" Propaganda in an Armenian Church in Istanbul

E-mail Print PDF
General President of Turkish Bench Sindicate Fahrettin Yokus stated that it writes “Turkey=Genocide” when you type ’S’ and ’Y’ letters in the website of an Armenian church in Turkey and said, “Nobody should make genocide propaganda in Istanbul.”

Settled in Kuzguncuk, Istanbul, Surp Krikor Lusavorich Armenian Church’s website writes “Turkey=Genocide” when one types the letters ’S’ and ’Y’ in the Armenian language section of the web site. After installing Armenian fonts, one sees “Turkey=Genocide” when the letters “s” and “y” are typed, whether he/she wants to seeit or not.

Commenting on the issue, General President of Turkish Bench Sindicate Fahrettin Yokus said, “It is so sad that Armenian Church Surp Krikor Lusavorich practices such defamation against Turkish people although Turkish people always tolareted them and did not exert any pressure about serving Armenian community since centuries.”

Stressing that Armenians urge World community to recognize genocide allegations, Yokus said, “Unfortunately 20 countries in the World and 44 states in US recognized so called Armenian genocide. While we are trying hard to tell that genocide allegations are nothing other than fabrication, but on the other hand, an Armenian church in Turkey defines Turkey with genocide. We never discriminated our citizens on the basis of language, religion and race. And we will never do that. If Armenian community in Turkey believes in so called Armenian genocide, we believe that we should review our relations. No one should make genocide propaganda in Istanbul. This is a crime and we are calling on prosecutors to do their job.”
