Hurriyet newspapers’ columnist Cuneyt Ulsever criticized protocols and claimed that protocols were written scribbling hastily.
“The ruling of Armenian Constitutional Court over protocols states that “Protocols are in conformity with the constitution, it is approved,” but when it comes to justify the ruling, Armenian court states that protocols between Turkey and Armenia conflicts with the 11th clause of the Armenian Constitution and Declaration of Independence.
11th clause of Armenian Declaration of Independence defines the issue of international recognition of so called “Armenian genocide” which took place in Ottoman Turkey and “Western Armenia” as a national cause.
Our Foreign Ministry reacts within seconds and shouts out loud that Armenia wrecks the protocols.
Did not Turkish Foreign Ministry read Armenia’s Declaration of Independence before? Why did not they call for attention to the existence of such a content like 11th clause?
In my opinion, government signed protocols scribbling hastily just to keep good relations with Obama administration.Afterwards, when Azerbaijan reacted protocols, Turkish government said, “Turkey will not introduce protocols to Turkish Grand National Assembly unless Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is solved,” although that is not mentioned in protocols. Government knows it very well that protocols cannot be ratified even among Justice and Development Party group parliamentarians. When Armenian Constitiutional Court announced the justified decision on the ruling, Foreign Ministry found its excuse, and they will be able to tell the World, “Armenians wrecked the protocols.”
