The Armenian leadership should display a more concrete position at the last stage of the negotiation process, Novruz Mammadov.
Armenia has secret supporters promoting its firm stance on Karabakh, Novruz Mammadov, chief of the foreign policy department of Azerbaijan’s presidential administration has told Azerbaijani ATV channel.
“The reason for which Armenia does not disavow its positions though being in a hard state and realizing it is that it relies on some forces that are virtually backing it. Otherwise, they would have fallen to Azerbaijan and Turkey’s feet, begging for rescue,” Mammadov said.
“Yet Armenians feel the support so far,” the representative of the presidential administration said.
As for whether he implies Russia as that virtual support, Mammadov said he also implies the west. He stressed the need for the immediate pressure of the mediating countries on Armenia for promotion of the negotiation process on the conflict settlement.
“In the current conditions at this stage of the negotiation process the pressure on Armenia by the Russian, US and French leadership directly or through the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs is needed as a prerequisite,” Mammadov said.
It is time for OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs-US, Russia and France, mediating the resolution of the Karabakh conflict, to demonstrate a just position in the resolution of the Karabakh conflict.
He said the Armenian leadership should display a more concrete position at the last stage of the negotiation process. If they protract the solution, this will not satisfy official Baku.
“Armenia behaves ridiculously. In the beginning of the year it agrees on one position and in the mid it disavows this position. Then again agrees and then it agrees on a different position and so on.”
