Federation of Turkish Associations in UK, held a conference in London School of Economics (LSE), for the memory of Turkish diplomats murdered by Armenian terrorists between 1973 and 1985.
Making a speech at the conference, Professor Doctor Turkkaya Ataov said that the decision of displacement of Armenian people in Eastern provinces during the rule o Ottoman Empire, was made due to security concerns. Stressing that historical documents prove that Armenians hadformed dangerous armed troops, Ataov said that armed Armenian rebels were in cooperation with the occupying forces and they were consisting a logistic threat for the security of Ottoman military.
Reminding that 235 Armenian citizen were detained in Istanbul on April 24, 1915 because of taking part in illegal activities, Ataov said that most of them were released after a while and some of them were sent other countries. Ataov said that only a few of them were sent Cankiri and Ankara but non of them were killed. Stressing that one of them had died because of natural reasons and two of them were murdered by their inmates, professor said that those murderer inmateswere sentenced to be executed.
Another guest speaker to the conference,Assistant Professor DoctorBestami Bilgic made a speech on the effect of issues of so called Armenian, Greek and Assyrian genocides on Turkish foreign policy. Professor also mentioned activities of anti-Turkish lobbies in Europe and United States.
The organizer of the conference, Federation of Turkish Associations in UK General Coordinator Servet Hassan said that the same issues will soon be handled again in a similar conference in Turkish language.
