Steinberg: Armenian Court's decision positive

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Steinberg said during his meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan that justified decision of Armenian Constitutional Court is a positive step that will contribute continuation of the process.

Making a visit to Yerevan, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James Steinberg said that the decision of Armenian Constitutional Court which Turkey reacted is a positive step that contributes continuation of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia.

According to the report of Armenian press, James Steinberg and Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan discussed Turkey-Armenia relations during the meeting they held in Yerevan.

Revoicing the support of U.S. administration to the process, Steinberg said, “The process of normalization between Turkey and Armenia is important for United States and we are ready to contribute this process.”

Touching also the controversial decision of Armenian constitutional court on Turkey-Armenia protocols, Steinberg defined theruling as a decision that will contribute continuation of the process.

Steinberg also said that parties should keep the political will towards continuation of the process.
