E-mail Print PDF
Ankara reacted to the statements of Armenian President’s top Foreign Policy Advisor Vigen Sarksyan related to the process of ratification of Turkey-Armenia protocols.

Sarksyan’s statements, “The next date for another important step in the process of ratification of protocols seems to be April 24,” caused harsh reaction of Ankara administration. Stressing that Armenia is not going to achieve anythingthrough threats, Turkish diplomats said, “Nobody can urge Turkey to make steps with April 24 paranoia.”

According to the report of Milliyet, Turkish diplomatic sources commented on Sarksyan’s statements, “We will wait for Turkey to make the next step for protocols.” Stressing that it is nonsense to wait for Turkey’s step, Turkish diplomats said that Turkey cannot be expected to ratify protocols within the frames of Armenian Constitutional Court’s justified decision. Diplomatic sources said that Armenia should give guarantees to Turkey that protocols’ letter and nature will be preserved and concrete progress should be achieved in the Azerbaijani-Armenian process for the ratification of protocols.
